Vancouver Police executed a high-risk search warrant for firearms offences on Wednesday at a home in south Vancouver and arrested four individuals.

“We had a very visible presences in the Sunset neighbourhood yesterday evening in relation to this warrant,” says Sergeant Aaron Roed, VPD. “We want to thank the public for their patience, as police worked on gathering evidence throughout the evening.”

The warrant was executed by the VPD’s Emergency Response and Major Crime Sections at about 3 p.m. near East 41st Avenue and St. Georges Street. To protect the safety of police officers and citizens, police used multiple police resources including the ‘armored rescue vehicle.’

Three of the individuals have been arrested and released. One man is still in custody for an unrelated federal warrant.

The VPD’s investigation is ongoing. VPD officers believe there is no public safety threat related to this incident.
