Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating a stabbing in Strathcona Park early this morning. The 46-year-old male victim is in hospital.

“This man has some major stab wounds to his body,” says Constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “With the amount of people in the park, we believe there is someone who has information on what happened.”

The victim is believed to have been stabbed inside a tent in the park around midnight. At 8 a.m. this morning, a woman found the victim on the corner of Raymur Avenue and Venables Street wrapped in a towel soaked in blood.

“The victim is in hospital in critical but stable condition. It is very troubling to know this man was suffering from his extensive injures for eight hours or more before paramedics or police were called,” add Visintin.

Two possible suspects have been arrested at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
