Multiple witnesses called 9-1-1 last week to report a man on a bicycle pointing a firearm and yelling at people in their vehicles near McGill and Kaslo. When officers arrived in the area, they saw the cyclist throw something into a garbage bin as he rode away from them.
Officers stopped the fleeing cyclist, and an airsoft pistol was recovered from the garbage bin. The suspect was charged with pointing a firearm, possession of an imitation firearm, and breach of his probation order. He was arrested and taken to jail, and the weapon was seized.
