A resident was walking down Robson Street one evening last week when a man allegedly threw a can of pop at him and made a racist remark about his ethnicity. He then advanced toward the man with an umbrella, but the victim was able to disengage and call police.
Officers located the suspect and arrested him for assault with a weapon. The victim was not injured, but he was upset about the racial motivation behind the incident.
