Early in the evening on March 19, a man and two women entered a downtown convenience store. An employee saw them concealing items they had not purchased. When he asked them to return the items and leave the store, they allegedly began punching the employee and hitting him with an umbrella.

The trio reportedly threatened to stab a customer when he tried to intervene. As the employee escaped to a back area, one of the suspects threw a glass container toward him, which fortunately did not make contact. The victim called 9-1-1 and the suspects fled.

When police arrived, multiple bystanders directed them to two of the suspects who were still within sight. They were arrested for assault and taken to jail. The third suspect remains unidentified.
