Vancouver Police are asking for help to locate a missing 81-year-old man with dementia, who was last seen Thursday evening near Kingsgate Mall.

Meir Steiner went missing around 6 p.m. Thursday, after a family member dropped him off at the mall, near Main Street and East Broadway. Mr. Steiner has Alzheimer’s, might seem confused, and probably won’t be able to find his way home.

Given his age, his medical condition, and the length of time since he was last seen, police are concerned for his well-being.

Mr. Steiner is white, with fair skin. He is five foot seven, with a medium build, greying hair, a moustache, and brown eyes. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a blue long sleeve button up shirt with a “Michael and Young Fly Shop” logo, grey hiking pants, and Birkenstocks.

Mr. Steiner may be confused or disoriented, and may ask for assistance.

Anyone who sees Meir Steiner is asked to call 9-1-1 and stay with him until first responders arrive.
