Staff at a downtown restaurant asked an intoxicated man to leave last weekend. He refused and allegedly threw a bottle at them. Several people helped hold the man down and police were called. While on the ground, staff say he made additional threats.

When officers arrived and tried to arrest the suspect, he head-butted two of them on the head, and tried to grab a third officer. Additional members arrived and the man was taken into custody, continuing to be verbally aggressive and attempting to hit officers.

Charges of assault, two counts of assault peace officer, two counts of uttering threats, and resisting arrest are being recommended.

The officers sustained minor injuries.
