The Vancouver Police Department has many dedicated volunteers giving their time to make our community a safer place to work and live. It can be a great introduction to the Department and to policing in general, especially if you are considering a career in law enforcement.
Block Watch
Block Watch is all about neighbours looking out for neighbours. Learn more about how you can join Block Watch and play a role in keeping your neighbourhood safe.
Community Crime Watch
Community Crime Watch is an exciting opportunity to be involved in your community. Volunteers act as extra sets of eyes and ears on the street for officers on patrol. They patrol in teams, using their own cars and are equipped with radios to report any suspicious or criminal activity to their police coordinator.
Community Policing Centres
We have nine Community Policing Centres in Vancouver, run mostly by volunteers. Their crime prevention programs and patrols help improve safety for us all, and it is a great way to get involved in your community.
Speed Watch
Speed Watch volunteers monitor speeds throughout the city, including school and playground zones. They use portable radio equipment and electronic signboards to make drivers aware of how fast they’re driving.
