Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s fourth pedestrian fatality of the year, which occurred this morning in the Downtown Eastside.

A 57-year-old man was crossing West Hastings Street just after 10 a.m. when he was struck and killed by an eastbound transport truck near Carrall Street. The man died at the scene.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and the driver, who remained on scene and was cooperative. It’s believed the pedestrian was jay-walking when the collision occurred.
