Vancouver – The 2023 Vancouver Police dog calendars are now on sale, featuring 14 dogs captured in their best poses.
The cost of each calendar is $15. Proceeds are equally split between the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Since 2010, the sale of the calendars has raised close to $500,000 for these charities.
The calendars are available for purchase at the following locations:
- Online through the Vancouver Police Foundation
- VPD Public Information Counters at 3585 Graveley Street or 2120 Cambie Street
- Vancouver Community Policing Centres
Retired VPD Sergeant Mike Anfield created the calendar in honour of his wife Candy, a VPD officer who lost her courageous battle with breast cancer in 2004.
The Vancouver Police Canine Unit has 16 handler / dog teams, comprised of 14 constables and two sergeants, working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The teams are trained in criminal apprehension, as well as narcotics, firearms, and explosives detection.
