Vancouver – Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent robbery at a small downtown business last fall.

Vancouver Police previously released store security video and asked for help to identify two people who committed a robbery and deployed bear spray inside a Howe Street clothing boutique on September 30. Thanks to tips from the public, investigators identified a man and woman, who were arrested last week.

“The impacts of violent crime are long-lasting, not just on victims, but throughout the entire community,” says Sergeant Steve Addison. “Investigations can take time, but we will continue to be unrelenting in our pursuit of people whose actions undermine our sense of safety.”

Elliot Daryl Cassels, 29, has been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon.

Jolesa Isabelle Ascon-Ramos, 22, is charged with robbery.
