Vancouver – The search for a man missing nearly three weeks has ended, with the discovery of Irshaad Ikbal’s remains in False Creek yesterday evening.
Irshaad was found deceased in the water near the Plaza of Nations just before 6 p.m. Thursday. A passerby called 9-1-1 and Vancouver Police officers brought him to shore.
The BC Coroners Service is now investigating. The cause of Irshaad’s death has not been determined.
The Vancouver Police Department extends its sympathies to the family, friends, and community members who helped search for Irshaad after he went missing on April 29. The VPD’s investigation into Irshaad’s disappearance remains open.
