Vancouver – A Vancouver Police homicide investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect in the 2023 murder of a man in the Downtown Eastside.
VPD initiated the investigation on September 28, 2023, after 44-year-old Ricky Martinez was fatally stabbed near Carrall and East Hastings Street.
Following an 11-month investigation by the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against 39-year-old Hevert Solis Moreno, who was arrested earlier today by VPD officers.
The suspect is currently in custody.
