Investigators have recommended criminal charges after identifying a person of interest in the death of a man out front of a bar on Robson Street.

On August 11th around 1 a.m., two men were involved in an argument outside of the Shenanigans Nightclub. One of the men, a 60-year-old Vancouver resident, was punched and knocked to the ground where he suffered what was thought to be a minor head injury. He was taken to hospital, but he refused treatment and left.

A short time later, paramedics were called to a West End apartment building, and found him unresponsive on the floor in his suite. He was returned to hospital, where it was determined that he was suffered a serious brain bleed. He died in hospital.

Police have now recommended a charge of manslaughter against a 26-year-old Vancouver man in relation to the incident.

This is Vancouver’s 15th Homicide of 2015.
