An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in an unmarked crosswalk, just before 1 p.m. today at Oak Street and West 8th Avenue.
Vancouver Police collision investigators believe that the injured woman was crossing Oak Street, on West 8th Ave in an unmarked crosswalk when she was struck by a South bound vehicle. Sun-glare may be a contributing factor in the cause of this collision. The driver remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators.
VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is asking anyone with dash-cam footage, or who may have witnessed this incident to contact them at 604-717-3012.
