Vancouver Police are looking for witnesses and the driver of a vehicle that has struck and killed a 43 year old mother of two in a collision in East Vancouver.

The woman was walking home after work shortly before 11:00 p.m. on December 2nd, and was struck at the intersection of East 43rd Avenue and Prince Edward. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she later died of severe internal injuries.

Members of the Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit are attempting to determine the cause of the collision. Investigators believe that the driver is aware that they struck a pedestrian, but may be unaware how seriously the pedestrian was injured.

This is Vancouver’s 19th traffic related fatality and the 11th pedestrian to die this year.
