A 20 year old Vancouver man has been formally charged in relation to last Friday’s robbery that lead to the stabbing of a Vancouver Police Dog.

Kyle Scott Martin has been charged with robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and harming a service animal, contrary to Section 23.1 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Mr. Martin is currently in custody pending his next court appearance in Provincial Court on Wednesday January 16th, at 09:30 a.m.

There is a publication ban in place for the bail hearing.
