Charges have now been laid in relation to last night’s stabbing in the West End of Vancouver that sent six people to hospital.
Around 6:45 last night, police responded to a report of a stabbing in an apartment building in the 1200 block of Barclay Street. When police got there they found a number of people suffering from apparent stab wounds.
Seven people were injured, six of them were rushed to hospital with significant injuries.
One man was arrested by police a short time after the attacks, inside the apartment building. It is now believed that the man was staying with a friend at the building.
Two victims remain in hospital, one is stable and the other is in very serious condition.
Jerome Bonneric, a 33 year old Vancouver resident, has now been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of common assault and one count of assaulting a police officer.
Jerome Bonneric is not known to police.
Bonneric remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on Monday, February 4th, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.
