The Vancouver Police Chronic Offender Unit is returning an Ontario man to Toronto in relation to sexual offences he allegedly committed 25 years ago.

Tuan Minh Phan, a 52 year old Ontario man, was arrested in Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon on Toronto warrants for the sexual assault of a female under 14 years of age, abduction and failing to comply with a Recognizance Order.

Phan was picked up and escorted back to Toronto by police early today from the Vancouver International Airport.

“Tuan Minh Phan was discovered to be living in Vancouver following an interaction with police on an unrelated matter on Tuesday afternoon,” says Sergeant Bill Pake of the Vancouver Police Chronic Offender Unit.

“When detectives learned that Phan was wanted by police in another province for his alleged involvement in violent sex offences, detectives worked with the Toronto Police Service to have the warrants extended to Vancouver and facilitate Phan’s return to Ontario to stand trial.”
