A large quantity of drugs have been stolen in two pharmacy robberies earlier today.

A pharmacy in the 4000 block of Cambie Street was robbed around 10:30 a.m., when a man entered the store and forced staff to open the safe where the drugs were secured. The man ran from the store with a large quantity of pharmaceuticals.

The second robbery happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Alma Street. Again, the suspect directed the pharmacist to open the safe, where he filled a bag with drugs before running away.

Investigators believe it is the same person involved in both robberies. Witnesses say he was black, about 25 years old, 6′ tall, 170 lbs., wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, a bandana covering his face and gloves.

The drugs stolen include:

  • methadone
  • morphine
  • oxycodone
  • adderall (amphetamine)
  • methylphenidate
  • codeine

Anyone who has information about this robbery, or knows the whereabouts of the stolen pharmaceuticals, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department at (604) 717-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
