Update

Police are warning the public after a woman allegedly attempted to abduct a toddler while she was with her family at Chinese New Year’s festivities on Saturday, February 1st.

At about 2:00 p.m., a family group was taking part in the celebrations at International Village Mall, also known as Tinseltown, at 88 West Pender Street, when they observed a woman holding the hand of their four-year-old and leading the child away from them. Family members intervened and retrieved the child, and the woman left the area.

The woman was described as white, 50 to 55 years old, 5’10” to 6′ tall, with a heavy/overweight build. She had glasses, long curly brown hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.

The woman was seen with a man that witnesses say was white, 30 to 35 years old, and over 6′ tall, with a very heavy/overweight build. He had a moustache and shoulder-length, balding, thick brown hair, and he was wearing dark-coloured clothes.
