Two youth are in hospital following a double slashing at Main Street and Terminal Avenue earlier this evening.

Around 5:30 tonight, police responded to reports of a fight involving bear spray outside the Main Street SkyTrain Station.

When police arrived they found a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, who had been slashed.

The pair were taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain in stable condition.

Around 9:30 this evening, three people of interest were taken into custody by police. Two men and one woman are being held, pending further investigation.

The victims and the suspects are known to police and the attack does not appear to be random.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section are attempting to determine a motive for the slashing.

“Police believe that there are witnesses out there who have valuable information to share,” says VPD spokesperson, Sergeant Randy Fincham.

Anyone with information about this incident, who has not yet spoken to police, is asked to call the VPD Major Crime Section at (604) 717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
