Police are asking residents to lock their windows and doors to prevent residential break-ins.
Approximately 50% of break-ins throughout July and August are a result of criminals entering homes through unlocked and/or open windows and doors.
Starting this Saturday, through Sunday, July 6th, the VPD will be tweeting out reminders in the morning to lock your windows and doors to protect your property from thieves. If you would like to receive these reminders, please follow the Vancouver Police on Twitter, at @VancouverPD.
