Police are searching for a bus stop bandit after two women were robbed at knifepoint late Saturday night.

On January 31st around 11:30 p.m., the two women, aged 25 and 30, were waiting for a bus on Prior Street near Campbell Avenue, when a man armed with a large butcher knife approached from the shadows. He demanded their valuables and took off after obtaining one woman’s bag. He was last seen running westbound on Prior Street.

Although uninjured, both women were extremely shaken up in the robbery.

Police believe that the suspect may have been hanging around the Strathcona Community Garden prior to the attack.

He was described as white, 30 to 40 years-old, 5’10” tall, with an athletic build. He was wearing a black rain jacket and his face was covered with a red bandana.
