Vancouver Police have safely removed a suspicious package from the 1000 block of Hornby Street after a citizen called 9-1-1 reporting the potential explosive device.
Around 10:30 a.m., police responded to 1068 Hornby Street after a citizen reported seeing a suspicious package in a planter in the exterior courtyard of the building. As a precaution, the VPD’s Explosive Disposal Unit was called to the scene. Investigators have determined that the package appeared to be a replica explosive device, but did not constitute a threat to anyone’s safety.
The item has now been removed and police will be attempting to determine how the package was left in the planter.
