Police are looking for witnesses to a SW Marine Drive Assault that sent one woman to hospital.

Around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th, a 24-year-old woman called 9-1-1 stating that she had been assaulted in the area of the Shaughnessy Golf Course located at 4300 SW Marine Drive. The woman advised that shortly after 10 a.m., she was walking on the lower trail when she was attacked by a man who was not known to her.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

The man was described as 40 to 50 years old, with a heavy build, olive skin, shoulder length, dark hair, and dirty in appearance.

There have been no arrests made in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

“Investigators are looking for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the assault who could have valuable information to share with the police,” says VPD spokesperson, Sergeant Randy Fincham.
