Despite several local media outlets reporting on stories out of Europe indicating recent threats to Vancouver, the threat level remains the same.
The Vancouver police work very closely with other police agencies locally, nationally, and internationally, including the RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams, to ensure the timely sharing of information and intelligence among the law enforcement community.
The safety and security of those who live, work and visit Vancouver is a priority for the VPD. There is currently no increase in threat levels and no known specific threat related to Vancouver.
The public, as always, is encouraged to remain alert and to immediately report any suspicious or unusual behaviour to local police, or to the National Security Information Network at 1 (800) 420-5805.
