Update: The Winning Name

A new addition to the Vancouver Police Department has successfully completed his assessment and will soon be starting his new job — all he needs is a name.

Over the last 60 days, the VPD Mounted Unit has been assessing a four-year-old Clydesdale. The horse performed better than imagined and officers at the VPD stables state their new horse learned quickly, gets along well with all of the other horses, and described their new partner as having a very mellow demeanor and huge feet.

However, the new addition to the police department needs a good name. Police officers and civilian staff at the VPD stables have narrowed the name selection to four possibilities and would like the public to make the final decision for the horse that will represent Vancouver while patrolling Stanley Park and areas of the West End.

The submitted names are:

Juno
Vimy
Justice
Mason

On February 22nd, those who voted for the most popular name will be entered into a draw for a visit to the VPD stables to meet the new recruit. The winning name will be announced on February 23rd.
