Four men are in custody following a brazen break-and-enter at a West Side consignment store.

Around 2 a.m., four men in a U-Haul moving van were seen pulling up to the High End Resale consignment store at 2607 West 16th Avenue and hooking up chains to the front door. The cube van then accelerated away from the building, pulling the front door and security bars from the business, allowing the crooks access to the store. Minutes later, the crooks fled in the cube van, with an undisclosed number of items from inside.

An alert neighbour called 9-1-1 and reported the incident.

Approximately five minutes later, the U-Haul was located by police, driving westbound in the 3100 block of King Edward Avenue. The cube van was ultimately pulled over by police in the 1500 block of South West Marine Drive. Four men were taken into custody without incident.

A 53-year-old Burnaby man, a 35-year-old man from Surrey, a 34-year-old man from Vancouver and a 35-year-old man from Vancouver remain in custody, facing charges of commercial break-and-enter and possession of stolen property.
