The Vancouver Police Board has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of a 15-year-old boy one year ago.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on July 26th, 2015, Jason Nguyen walked into his sister’s bedroom of the family’s home on East 24th Avenue near Rupert Street. He was covered in blood and collapsed on the floor. Police and paramedics were called and the teenager was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He did not survive.

The death was Vancouver’s 9th homicide of 2015. Investigators continue to probe the circumstances involved and look for Jason’s killer.

Jason Nguyen was a good brother and son, and was not believed to be involved with crime; he truly was an innocent child. The motive for the attack is still not clear and police believe he may have been targeted simply because of someone he may have known.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police at 604-717-2500, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
