The Vancouver Police were contacted by the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) in mid-April 2018 about an internal-theft investigation. Detectives from the VPD Property Crime Unit worked with the LDB to collect evidence that led to the execution of a search warrant at a Delta home on May 15th, where over $100,000 in alcohol was recovered.
Three people, two from Surrey and one from Delta, were arrested in relation to theft. They were later released pending further investigation. One of the suspects is an employee of the LDB.
This investigation remains active and the VPD continues to work with the Liquor Distribution Branch to determine if there is evidence of additional offences.
