On March 5, a specialized tricycle was stolen from the backyard of a home in southwest Vancouver. The bike belonged to a 17-year-old girl who lives with a disability. Her parents reported it to police, and on March 23, two officers on patrol in the Downtown Eastside spotted the bike. It was seized and returned to the owner.

The girl’s father told police she had been very upset when the tricycle was stolen, and now she is back enjoying bike rides.

The family had already purchased a new bike, so they are planning to donate the recovered bike to another child in need.

The investigation into the theft is continuing.
