Earlier this week, security guards at a downtown liquor store were allegedly bear-sprayed while trying to apprehend a thief. When the man fled the store, the guards followed. They were sprayed again, and this time, a bystander was also hit with the spray.
Officers arrived and arrested the man after a brief struggle. The bear spray was seized and he was taken to jail.
Police are recommending charges for robbery and assault with a weapon.
