The Vancouver Police Department is now hiring retired police officers on contract, on a temporary basis, to help fill vacancies while our long-term recruitment for regular full-time police officers continues.
Patrol is the priority for deployment. However, positions that Human Resources has been unable to fill through the internal regular competition process may be filled by retired police members after consultation and agreement with the Vancouver Police Union.
Email to connect with one of our Retired Police Officer Program Recruiting detectives or to submit your completed application form, resume, and cover letter.
This conversation will be kept in confidence and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about this amazing opportunity to continue your policing career.
