An 86 year old female pedestrian involved in a collision in the Unit (00) block of East Hastings Street in June has died from her injuries.
Shortly after 12 p.m. on June 26th, the woman attempted to cross Hastings Street mid-block, and was struck by a passing vehicle.
She was rushed to hospital for treatment, but tragically succumbed to her injuries on August 26th. Her name is not being released at the request of family.
The driver of the vehicle has been cooperative with investigators, no charges have been laid and the collision remains under investigation at this time.
Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the collision.
This is Vancouver’s 11th traffic-related fatality of 2012.
