The Vancouver Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened earlier this morning involving a charter bus parked on Ross Street near Marine Drive.

Around 9:00 a.m., a charter bus was parked on Ross Street at 63rd Avenue loading passengers when it began to roll backwards down the hill. An 80 year old woman boarding the bus fell out when it began to move.

The woman sustained what was thought to be minor injuries at the time of the incident.

An ambulance was called and paramedics attended to the her injuries at the scene. They were taking her to hospital for treatment, but she tragically died on the way to the hospital.

Three other people sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit is on scene conducting their investigation and will likely be there for the rest of the afternoon.

The driver of the charter bus is cooperating with investigators.

The name of the deceased is not being released.
