Premier Christy Clark, and Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, and Sarah McLachlan will join the Chief of Police and the Vancouver Police Foundation on Tuesday, February 25, to raise money for essential policing services and community outreach programs. Highlights will include McLachlan joining the legendary Vancouver Police Pipe Band in a performance to mark its 100th anniversary.

Night Patrol Gala sold out weeks in advance, with a guest list that includes the city’s most philanthropic and illustrious personalities. Attendees will be treated to an experiential Vancouver Police patrol experience.

The evening is being co-chaired by Peter and Joanne Brown, and Ryan and Cindy Beedie. Funds raised will support the new VPD Cadet Program and the Vancouver Police Pipe Band centennial events and activities.

Currently under the leadership of Pipe Major Cal Davis, the band was formed in 1914 by the Chief of the day, Malcolm McLennan, to play for the new police headquarters. The “Official Band of Vancouver,” it is the oldest non-military pipe band in Canada and ranks among the oldest police pipe bands in the world.
