The woman who tried to save the life of 28-year-old Robert Tyson Smith after he was stabbed at Granville and West Georgia Street on February 9th has now been identified.

On March 5th, police made a public appeal in the hopes of identifying this Good Samaritan. As a result of the media coverage, the woman has come forward to speak with investigators.

“We want to thank this woman,” says VPD Constable Brian Montague. “Not only for trying to save a life that night, but for having the courage to do the right thing and come forward to talk with police.”

The death of Robert Smith remains under investigation and charges have not yet been laid in the case.
