The Vancouver Police are warning local drug users after a quantity of drugs were stolen in a pharmacy robbery.

There were various prescription drugs that were taken, but a small quantity of stolen fentanyl patches have caused concern for police. Drug users should be aware of the risks posed to people using this substance. Fentanyl is an unforgiving drug, much more powerful than heroin. It can be lethal, even in small doses.

The warning comes after the Peoples Drug Mart on West 57th Avenue near Cambie Street was robbed shortly before 6:00 p.m. this evening. Two suspects armed with guns entered the pharmacy and fled with the stolen pharmaceuticals.

Anyone who has information about this robbery, or knows the whereabouts of the stolen pharmaceuticals, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
