Police are looking for a high-risk sex offender who is wanted Canada-wide after failing to return to his halfway house last night.
Forty-six year-old Richard Thomas Galt is a two-time federal offender on statutory release after receiving a three-year-seven-month sentence for uttering threats, break-and-enter, and failing to comply with his probation order.
Richard Galt also has four prior convictions for sexual assault against women and children. He is considered a high risk to reoffend.
Gault is Aboriginal, 5’8″ tall, 240 lbs., with long black hair and several tattoos, including a wizard on his left forearm, tribal design on the right forearm, and a heart and dagger on his left upper arm. He walks with a cane, and was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone who sees Richard Thomas Galt, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked not to approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
