Investigators with the Vancouver Police are trying to identify two people who approached a group of children near an elementary school earlier this afternoon.

Shortly after 1:00 pm, a silver 4-door Honda Civic sedan stopped on the south side of L’Ecole Anne Hebert Elementary School located on Killarney Street near East 56th Avenue. The car was driven by a man with a woman in the passenger seat. The woman opened the door and asked a six-year-old girl standing near the playground with some friends if she wanted to get inside. The little girl refused and ran to tell an adult at the school.

Neither the man or woman got out of the car and it is unknown why they approached the children. Police are attempting to locate the vehicle and identify the two inside.

Police are reminding parents to talk with their kids about what to do if approached by a stranger.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who these two individuals might be, is asked to contact the Vancouver Police.
