restaurant-robbery1Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to identify three masked men who robbed staff and patrons at a Vancouver restaurant.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on September 12th, the three men entered the Phoenix Garden Restaurant, located near Nanaimo Street and Broadway. One of the men was waving around a pistol and pointing it at the staff and customers. A second man was in possession of a machete.

The three demanded wallets, watches and valuables before running off to a waiting car in the back parking lot.restaurant-robbery2

Staff and customers hid behind objects and under tables, not knowing what the men were going to do or were capable of. There were no injuries, but all of those in the restaurant were shaken by the chaotic and frightening incident.

“Acts of violence like this are clearly unacceptable,” says Constable Brian Montague. “Somebody knows who these three men are. We hope they do the right thing and call police before someone gets seriously hurt.”

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the Vancouver Police at (604) 717-9547 or they can report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
