2015 Witnesses Oak.41

The Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit is looking for additional witnesses to a fatal collision last month to come forward.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on November 14th, a grey Audi travelling north on Oak Street collided with a red Suzuki at the intersection of West 41st Avenue.

The 68-year-old Vancouver man driving the Suzuki was taken to hospital with massive injuries and did not survive.

The driver of the Audi, a 34-year-old Richmond resident, was taken to hospital with very minor injuries and released a short time later.

Collision investigators continue to probe the factors involved in the crash and video of the collision would suggest the driver of a Mercedes B200 may have important information to provide.

A still image from that video shows the Mercedes in the northbound lanes of Oak Street. Police would like to speak with the driver and occupants of three other cars, also in the video, stopped at a red light on West 41st Avenue. They include a silver BMW in the left turn lane, a small red car and a dark pick-up truck with a trailer.

Anyone that witnessed the collision, or events leading up to it, is asked to contact the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at (604) 717-3012.
