On March 5th, VPD Chief Constable Adam Palmer and Vancouver Police staff will be “freezin’ for a reason” when the first-ever Vancouver Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC hits Kitsilano Beach.

Plunge Day will include a costume contest, Vancouver Police Department operations vehicles and appearances by a VPD bagpiper and the RCMP’s Air One helicopter, plus plenty of food and give-aways.

VPD Chief Constable Adam Palmer, SOBC Board of Directors member Michael Campbell, and SOBC – Vancouver athlete Sheryl Spurr will be the keen-eyed costume judges.

Funds raised will help support Special Olympics BC‘s life-changing year-round sport programs and competitions for more than 4,400 children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the province.
