Vancouver Police are continuing to investigate a fatal collision after a pedestrian was hit by a car on East 41st Avenue.

Around 9:30 p.m. last night, a woman was crossing mid-block on East 41st Avenue near Kerr Street when she was stuck by an eastbound car. She died at the scene.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The cause of the collision is now the focus of the police investigation.

East 41st Avenue was closed between Rupert Street and Kingsway Avenue as the Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit conducted their investigation.

This is Vancouver’s third pedestrian fatality in 2016.
