Vancouver Police continue to investigate a collision in East Vancouver that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Shortly before 9:30 this morning, a woman crossing East Broadway was struck by a trailer towed by a dump truck turning right off of Rupert Street.

The pedestrian is believed to be a 31-year-old Vancouver resident. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and has been cooperative with police.

Officers with VPD Collision Investigation Unit continue to probe the scene for evidence, speak to witnesses and conduct a canvass for any video to determine the factors involved in the crash.

This is Vancouver’s 6th traffic fatality in 2016. Five of those have been pedestrians.
