Late yesterday afternoon, patrol officers noticed a man acting suspiciously in the 1000 block of Granville Street. He appeared to be actively avoiding the officers, so they stopped the man.
Bear spray was in plain view in the man’s pocket. Inside the two duffle bags he was carrying, officers found about 800 scratch-and-win lottery tickets, 60 packs of cigarettes, and other items, along with documents belonging to a local business nearby.
The officers confirmed that the business had been broken into only 20 minutes earlier. Surveillance video from the store showed the same suspect that the officers had in custody. He was arrested for break-and-enter and breach of his probation conditions, and taken to jail.
