Vancouver – Vancouver Police recovered a stolen one-tonne truck today from the Strathcona Park encampment that has been parked within the camp since February 3.

“The stolen truck was first identified late last week,” says Constable Tania Visintin, VPD. “Officers took a thoughtful, measured approach to develop a plan to remove it.”

Officers were on-scene at around 6:30 a.m. A tow truck was used to remove the truck without incident. It was taken to the VPD Property Office for further investigation.

“No issues arose and no arrests were made during the extraction of the truck,” adds Constable Visintin. “There were few residents in the park when the truck was removed.”

The stolen truck is not connected to the search warrant executed last week in Strathcona Park for a murder investigation.
