Vancouver – Vancouver Police are warning the public that Hayden McCorriston, who has a history of sexually assaulting strangers, has been released from custody and is living at a halfway house in the city.

McCorriston, 30, was convicted of sexually assaulting multiple women in Burnaby and Vancouver in 2022.  He is currently serving a two-year, three-month jail sentence for five counts of sexual assault, break-and-enter, failure to comply with an undertaking, assaulting a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime, mischief, robbery, indecent acts, assault, and assault by choking.

Although his sentence expires in 2026, Vancouver Police have been notified that McCorriston has obtained statutory release and will be living at a halfway house in Vancouver.

Vancouver Police believe McCorriston poses significant risk of harm to the community and is a high risk to commit further physical and sexual violence

McCorriston’s statutory release conditions include:

  • Not to consume drugs
  • Not to consume alcohol
  • Obey a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Not to enter a licensed establishment
  • Report all intimate sexual and non-sexual relationships and friendships with females to his parole supervisor.

Investigators from VPD’s High Risk Offender Unit will work with Correctional Service Canada to monitor McCorriston. Anyone who observes him breaching his release conditions is asked to contact police immediately.
