Vancouver – A Vancouver Police investigation has led to a conviction in the homicide of Justin Mohrmann, who was stabbed to death by a stranger in Yaletown three years ago.

Mohrmann, 29, was stabbed in the chest while walking near Smithe and Homer Street the morning of July 11, 2022, in what police determined was a random and unprovoked attack.

Lindsay Scott, now 37, was arrested by VPD and charged with second-degree murder.

Scott was convicted of manslaughter following a jury trial. Last week, the court imposed a six-year jail sentence, followed by three-years probation with mandatory treatment at a forensic hospital.

The court found that mental illness and drug use were factors in the offence.

The court also imposed a 10-year firearms prohibition order.
